Uh oh... not a good sign

My iPod just started playing "Crazy on You" by Heart, and my mind was thinking of notes passing by on Guitar Hero II. I've been poisoned.

I feel your pain, in my fingers especially. Just getting through the intro to the song alone is typically cause for celebration.

<cocky>Not^H^H^H to gloat, but I've cleared that one on expert.</cocky>

(Dangit, why isn't the strikeout tag allowed? So much cleaner and less cryptic than ^H)

Yeah, that one was pretty brutal on Expert. (In that set, though, "Rock This Town" was the one I really got stuck on. Now I'm working on "Psychobilly Freakout".)

Heard Wolfmother's "Woman" on the radio the other day. I'm like, "So that's what it's supposed to sound like."

Ah, the halcyon days of having a very good song ("Crazy on You") stuck in my head. Apparently, both Lemming and I had that stuck in our heads today.

Then I got back from lunch and (in addition to page proofs for a couple of sections of the Legends III book, which arrived as expected in the morning -- so that was just work I knew was coming), I noticed one of those e-mails that just completely ruined my mood and sent my stress level soaring. (Only on days on the order of having gotten a job offer from Oxford would this e-mail not have totally destroyed my mood. That's how much it pissed me off and stressed me out.)

I've already ranted about it a bit to one friend (and was somewhat calmer in the process than I thought I would be), and I'm going to stop now before I work myself up into an uproar in classic Tommy Lasorda fashion.

AG - Exactly. Crazy on You was more satisfying when I finally beat it, though, and I enjoyed it more. Rock this Town, however, just felt like a brutal endurance run, ending in much hand-pain for reals for real.

I think I did one or two on the next set, and just decided it wasn't worth it anymore. I had to practice for each song (until then I only did that for Rock this Town) rather than just casually practice whatever and polish up my form. Once the game began "practice this track" rather than "play this track", I was through.

Mason - Sorry to hear that. I suppose I'll get the scoop tomorrow? Look at it this way, soon you'll be far, far away, gaming and watching baseball.

Yeah, I'll give you the scoop tomorrow.

My family decided to try to pull some shit on me again.

I already ranted a bit to one person today -- or I guess two if you count part of an e-mail to Zifnab -- so that helped, but this is definitely valued at more than just one rant. (Though I suppose it's worth remarking that it's great to have another person to rant to. I can spread things around more that way and hopefully not annoy any one person too much.)

And, yes, I am looking forward to being away even more than I was before.
